Justina and I have been eying the Ercoupe for a while now. I have a few hours in an Alon from my earlier years. What a fun airplane. However, if we have to choose between Experimental, or Light Sport, we think the Experimental route will be the most satisfying.
We were thinking strongly of possibly an Experimental Taylorcraft. But after hearing what we would have to pay for the extra insurance for a taildragger. We're thinking keeping the little wheel in front would be the best option there also.
So, where do we go from here? A tricycle Experimental LSA with enough room to carry Cheyenne. All under $25,000? Our experience so far is telling us it still may be a bit more of a wait. But, if patient, the right airplane just has to come along some day. Doesn't it?
