Gary, I'm curious how you reached this figure..... Could it be what you paid for your C152 project? smile

To me it would be hard to get an exact figure, would have to know if ALL ADs are current, complete airframe logs, damage history,,,, also are the wings included, just removed? Or are they missing...

You're exactly right, Niall.

I've seen no pictures. I've read no significant list of details.

So, essentially, all I can infer from the sketchy information is it's a 152 fuselage with perhaps a few other pieces laying around.

Putting the value of an airworthy 152 with a mid-time engine at around 18,000 dollars with decent avionics, I just subtracted what it would cost to buy a used stock prop, mid-time stock engine, decent but basic avionics, some interior parts, maybe a seat or two and new tubes and tires all around. Factoring in some repair pieces required for the hangar rash that invariably attaches itself to such projects, and I really feel like my estimate is on the high side. I don't even know if this project has any logs.

So, as sad as it sounds, it's very likely worth more as salvage than it is as a project. It would have to find value in the heart and eyes of someone who is very mechanically inclined who is either a very dedicated A&P, or at least has a great working relationship with one. Paying anything for labor would very quickly make the project end up costing more than it could be sold for.

The real answer to your question, Niall, is I pulled it out of my a$$. But, it all depends...will the buyer use his mind or heart to make the purchase? Personally, I couldn't afford such a great deal myself.
