I am building an airplane (check out N7559Q.blogspot.com). The question I had to ask myself, and the, I think, the question you need to ask yourself, "what is the objective".
If the objective is to obtain a flying airplane, walk away from it and go find a nice mid-time or better 152.
However, if your objective is to have a project, then this one sounds like a good one. It will give you many hours of shopping, building, assembly fun.
Though, if I were looking for a project that represented this much money, I might be more tempted to look at a Sonex or something similar.
I am building the Wag-a-Bond because I like tube and fabric airplanes (especially Pipers). I am building from plans because I don't have to pony a bunch of money up front. I am building because I want to build. I already have a pretty decent 150 to fly.
One other thing, and I bet you know this, a lot of folks would kill for hangar rent of $200 a MONTH!
