Josh, I know how disappointing it can be to have to wait on something. But, just to give you some perspective... As expensive as it sounds, renting a plane to take to Clinton makes sense (and cents).
I pay $3600.00 a year for a hangar, $600.00 a year for a tiedown spot, and $1000.00 a year for insurance BEFORE I spend the first dime on avgas. Even if you rented a plane for a 25 hour trip (my average Clinton trip including the flight up and back and the fun flying along the way) and paid 100 bucks/hour wet, you're still money ahead.
Plus, if it breaks, it's their problem but still your inconvenience. So, hurry up and finish your license. That way, we can increase the size of the Texas Wing of the Cessna 150/152 Club. :-)
