[quote=Kendel Corrosion at a seam or rivet line could be something horrible that requires rebuilding a structure to eliminate.
Corrosion is like cancer. It grows and spreads over time. Once it's found a way to crawl into the airplane, it has become (near) fatal.[/quote]

I didn't want to hijack this thread and make it into a paint discussion..but a lot of people balk at the idea of spending $10K on painting a "150"...
Many people look to going out of state for a cheaper price, stripping it themselves thinking that the actual paint coat is the real work (it's NOT), getting their favorite car painter to do it, and so on.....
Even a beautiful paint job will FAIL if the prep work is inadequate, improper or suspect- especially if all the stripper is not removed/naturalized or the metal surface is not prepared for the paint PROCESS to work...
So..what is the better value? A $5K job that deteriorates after 6-7 years, or a $10K+ job that will last another 30 like the original one did?.
