Just how many ramp checks are performed in the Alvord, anyway?

Yeah, I know! Ya gotta take off from somewhere to get there!

Ya know Carl, it really is not the FAA that I am primarily concerned about today. The chance of actually getting ramp checked is nill to none. No! What concerns me is there appears to be a ever growing populace of people within our own ranks that seem to take the greatest of pleasure in policing their fellow pilots. For example, just a few months ago, I was changing the oil in Mr. Ed. When I noticed this guy walk out of the FBO. Over across the parking lot. Through the gate and directly over to my hanger. No "Hello!" No "How are you doing?" But the first words out of his mouth were, " Do you have a license to be working on this airplane?" I politely told him..........well? Maybe I wasn't so polite.....................
Then we had this guy criticize some of us for having fun out on our recent adventure to the Alvord Desert!
What is up with this? Are any of you also seeing more of this where you are at?
