A little more detail:
The engine recieved what I would call a "real" overhaul in 2001 that cost the owner $12,000. This was very important for me as Transport Canada doesn't readily accept field overhauls done 25 years ago.
The aircraft was painted in 2000 with that Imron stuff...and it still looks great...so I won't have to do that either.
The interior needs some work...lots of grime...and some instruments have darkened with age...but the headliner is great. I'll have to replace the belts as there's no tags on them any more.
The seller has put a fair chunk of money into this thing since he owned it in 1991...and I thank him for it.
The only red flag that came up was that the A/F and engine logs from '66 to '76 are missing. Hey, '76 was ~ 30 years ago...so not sure that's such a big deal. I'm ordering the FAA disc on the aircraft.
Not sure what we'll settle on...I'd like to get it for less of course...but this thing is everything I was looking for...and the seller is willing to fly the thing to Canada to really, really, really ease the importation.
