If the OH was a real OH and I could acquire 36V for $28k I think I would have to buy it for the panel upgrades alone. Better DG than 96K, an inexpensive GPS, (but included nonetheless) and the tx/ADS-B combo already installed makes Victor worth more than Kilo. It all comes down to those two big "ifs," though. If the OH was legit and the price has any wiggle room. Why would a flight school OH an engine and then sell? Is that a warning sign? Is there something they saw that said "Fix it up and dump it" or are they just trying to keep inventory updated? Maybe the school is slow and they don't fly the 150 enough to warrant keeping it? Maybe the inflated price reflects money they're trying to recoup from the cost of the OH? I wonder if I could get honest answers to those questions...
Those are good points..
What brings me to 96K, is that 96 K has more time on the OH, but it's well clear of the initial hours after the overhaul. If an engine is going to have issues, it'll do it within... what is it... 250 hours or so. And, as you mentioned, why overhaul, then sell?
Oh yeah... the Loran too.
