Hey Zachary.......welcome aboard.
One thing for sure......you're heart is in the right place.
As Bruce mentioned, corrosion will be the trump card on a neglected plane like this. You need to know where to look and what to look for and it's not as simple as peeping into the wings and fuselage so proceed cautiously.
Past corrosion.......this looks like fun project. Lots and lots of work but what fun bringing an old gal like this back to life to fly again.
