We have more coyotes here than rabbits. I'll go out to Midland where the prarie dog population is running rampant. They were fat little fellows...

If that's the case, I'll check with my wife, Fan Ai Ling. She's got some dog recipes that (she says!) are pretty darn tasty.
As for the prarie dogs - seriously- watch out for the holes! A taildragger was seriously damaged at a local airport a year or so ago. The pilot landed on the grass strip adjacent to the runway. One wheel snagged a gopher* hole and nosed over - big time damage.
Having said that, I suppose you could que up prarie dog much like gopher. Not as much meat though.
