The seat back on my pilot seat broke today. I swapped it with the seat back from the passenger side for the time being.
Any ideas on where to buy a pilot new seat? Not a seat cover, the entire assembly.
Cessna C-150H.
(Thank God it didn't happen when I was in climb out, or worse yet, in IMC.)
Mark,
It's fun hanging on with your fingernails to the dash while trying to hold the yoke with the other, ain't it?

Mine broke shortly after breaking ground climbing out of Baker Oregon. Thank goodness I:
1) I continually trim for the mode of flight I am presently in. (My right hand/arm lives on the trim wheel when not around Justina.)
2) I had the presence of mind to let go of the yoke temporarily.(Since the plane was trimmed the yoke didn't move very far.)
3) Had the baggage compartment full thus supporting the seat some what.
Upon closer inspection of the seats, I found that there there were weld repairs upon weld repairs. So repairing it really wasn't an option. I started calling different salvage yards. Ultimately finding a pair at a good price at Central Air Parts. Of course, there always is ebay and Barnstormers.
Now, you will wanna keep in mind that they changed the seat rails some time in the early 70's. So, I believe you are restricted with seats from 1965-1971.
Good luck!
