I did that, too, Michael. My goal was to fly ... not to get a license within so many hours. Once I soloed, I went flying as often as I could afford, sans instructor (because it was cheaper). I did eventually get my license, after a couple of years, 5 instructors, and something around 80 hours total. Who cares how long it took! I had a ball! Hours is hours, and they don't proove anything about what kind of pilot your are!
