Good Gosh, Michael, 180 hours and no PPL!!! 80 hours dual! No wonder you were disgusted! How many hours did you have at solo? I'm surprised your Dad didn't give you a heads up that you were not progressing fast enough.

Oh, my dad and I were both frustrated with my first instructor! I almost ashamed to say I had that many hours! Instructor #1 whom I quit, had several of his students come to my Instructor #2. I tell you it was a mess and a pain for a while.
Now realize, part of the reason, I had so many hours, was that at that time I had no children and had a plane available to me anytime I wanted it! So, on the way home from work, the wife is at work or in Masters classes, so off I went! I think I visited every airport and strip within my area.
