Awesome undertaking and I wish you the best. My thoughts would be in looking to purchase an airplane, stick to something that you can readily find instructors to teach you with. A friend of mine years ago did exactly what you plan doing, his problem was he went and bought himself a Cherokee 180, and after his purchase he just couldn't find someone to instruct him on that model,, he eventually sold it and got out of flying.

I see you're looking for a 150? Might I suggest you start up a post, and list out what you would like,, hours, year, avionics, add any extras you might like,, But, realize that these little planes are about 20 years plus in age, so keep that in mind when looking. You'd be surprised at how many folks visit this site and the "telegraph system" might work very well for you, nothing to loose from doing it,,
