I, like Bill, am not a David Clark fan, but I've heard from several sources the newest DC ANRs are very well made, comfortable, and effective. The company does have a good reputation for customer service.

I think DC made the mistake of resting on its past achievements (and military contracts) while everyone else caught up and in some cases surpassed them. It appears that they have begun putting some real effort into upgrading performance and comfort in their newer offerings, so someone must have finally woke up and noticed their sadly diminished market share. Without the military it's possible DC would have gone under by now (at least the headset part of the company, if they make other things).

Well Bill now you know why I let them go so cheap. My Denali's were better.

The ANR upgrade kit from Headset Inc is awesome! Cost me $169 I think. The customer service was excellent as well. I ordered the wrong part (my fault) and they sent the correct one out (with no shipping charge) before they even got the original one back. Great people and a great product in my opinion. I know a lot of others that have them that recommended them to me. I upgraded my Clarks but the kits are available for any major brand headset.

The only ting is the ear cups that came on them didn't last long.

I have two LightSPEED QFR Solos (non-ANR). The black coating on the ear-seals on one of the headsets started to flake off. I called LightSPEED about it and they sent me a new pair of ear-seals, free.

Thanks Richard!

Maybe the deluxe foam or silicon gel ear cups would be better?

I bought the deluxe cups and they are great.

I have a set of Bose X and a new set of DC X11's and I like the X11's better.
For those who have never seen it, I had a set of Bose QuietComfort 2's headphones and saw on Ebay an adapter for them to make them work in an airplane! Too cool. They are called Iflymike. They hook onto the Bose Quiet Comfort 2's and make a nice set of ANR Bose headsets for half the price. I was thinking about selling those since I have the others now.

Its Uflymike. http://www.uflymike.com/index.html

If you have ever tried the Quiet Comfort 2's, they are about as good as it gets for a home entertainment type headset.

Make me a reasonable offer and I'll sell the set.

Has anyone tried one of the ANR upgrade kits. I read a P&P article about a year ago that claimed they worked well.

Anyone used any of the ear-plug type headsets? My wife can't wear anything I've gotten her without discomfort after about 30 minutes. She's a small one with a small head, with associated small ears.

I've even tried the (Lord how will I ever pay for them!) Bose X headset and it lasted about an hour before they came off! I've thought about the kid type headsets, but it's the 'pressure' on her head that she complains about and the large and light Bose are supposedly the 'best'. I know that some of you are saying. That sounds good. Then she won't hear your oops with the controllers and you can have some piece and quiet

But back to the question. Anyone tried ear-plug type headsets?

Check out the Bose QC2 headphones that I have. They are about the smallest you can get in an over the ear headphone. I'd even send these to ya to try if you want. I know all about trying to keep the female in the right seat happy!
