I am finally breaking down and getting presuaded into considering purchasing a pair of ANR headsets for Justina and me. But, we are on a budget! Well? OK! To be honest, we are cheapskates!

Does anybody here have a ANR headset or two hanging around collecting dust that you would like get rid of? Please message or email me if you do.

Thanks bunches!

Bill, you might consider these brand new headsets. They're the Lightspeed QFR type only sold under two different names. Made by LS, serviced and warranteed by LS.

They're only $239 and have cel/music inputs. Best budget buy on the ANR market.

Bill, I bought a pair of the QFR last year and love them. the amount of ANR is good, and I actually like them better then the Bose. The only ting is the ear cups that came on them didn't last long.

Thanks Richard!

Maybe the deluxe foam or silicon gel ear cups would be better?

I have a pair of the QFR Solo's (passive) for the backseaters, and they are a fantastic headset. I like them nearly as much as my 20K's (active) as they have great attenuation and are ver comfortable and the music inputs sound much better. That said, the active versions should be fantastic.

You might call LS also, as I bought my 20K's 6 or so years ago as refurbs and saved a couple hundred bucks but they were like new.

Has anyone tried one of the ANR upgrade kits. I read a P&P article about a year ago that claimed they worked well.

Jeff, it is my understanding the QFR Solo passive has cel input, but not music(?) Or maybe they don't call it a music input because it's not amplified like the ANR version?

As far as ear seals going bad prematurely...they would replace them under warranty, but maybe a set of Oregon Aero seals would be a nice upgrade. I notice the Lightspeed top of the line QFR passive now touts the premium seals and headpad.

I know they are not cheap, but has anyone tried the new David Clark X-11 headset?

A learning experience concerning David clark head sets. Now, DC's are supposed to be the cream of the crop. The headsets which set the standards of all headsets. You are not a "real" pilot unless you owned a pair of David Clark's!

A member here a few years ago offered to give away two pair of David Clark's. Of course, I jumped right on it! Who wouldn't want David Clark headsets especially if they were free? What luck! I was all giddy with excitement that I was now going to own my very own David Clark's!

Well, they came. Oh Boy! Oh Boy! Took them right out the airport to try out and compare with my cheapie Telex Echelon 100's. Got them all hooked up and off I go...........

A puzzled look on my face? Something wrong here? These are not nearly as comfortable as my cheapie Echelons? And the sound quality is not as good as my cheapie Echelons? Nor do they seem to be as quiet as my cheapie Echelons?

I kept the Echelon's and passed on the David Clark's to another member! Obviously the reputation was by name only!
