I bought a new quartz clock for my C-150 (on left).
The old one works, but the threads on the knurled knob and/or stem are stripped, so the knob won't stay on. Reason: I shut the clock off every time I shut the plane down, and I have to reset the time every time I restart the plane. So, I finally wore out the knob.
I tried a few methods to keep it on, but no luck.
Old clock (on right) still works. Dials, sweep second hand, set dial, etc. You can still set the time using a needle nose pliers or even your fingers. 12 Volt.
Free for cost of shipping. USA only. I estimate $5 to $10 to ship. PM me. If I don't hear anything within a week or two-- I'm tossing it.

If nobody else needs it, I'll take it. I'll even pick it up wink

It's yours, Phil. AUCTION CLOSED.
I may fly to Hollister soon. The Ding-A-Ling is long gone, but Wizard's Cafe At Corbin is not too far of a walk from KCVH. Maybe this weekend.

As for the clock, in its current configuration, even with the busted knob, it meets requirement for IFR minimum equipment (clock with sweep second hand installed). Most C-150s are designed so that the the clock is running constantly, 24/7 even when the plane is shut down. I chose to get a switch installed so that the clock is off when the plane is parked, so that I don't run the battery down. Some say battery drain is negligible.

In any case, if your plane is wired as original, and you set the clock once or once-in-a-while, it's still usable.

p.s.
Most pilots, even when flying IFR, have any number of timers, portables, and wristwatch that they use instead of the on-board clock, but the clock is still required equipment. It's in the regs.

p.s.; p.s.: If you install it and find you like it, and you want to get a better one some day, they are a buck-and-a-half at Sporty's [sportys.com].

Awesome - Thanks Mark.

I'm thinking about a trip out to Castle tomorrow morning early. Otherwise I should be around the area tomorrow. If you come over to CVH ping me and I'll come over.

Great. You can have all the stuff that came with it. Connectors, wires, install instructions, etc. Then, if you do decide to get a new one, you can just pop it in.
