While I knew it needed some maintenence, what I didn't count on was a bad cam shaft (probably, still uncertain) disguised (alleged) by 10 degrees advanced timing. Now, I can afford to fix the plane, which I will, and it will still be a reasonably priced 4 seat 180 hp airplane, but it will be on the upper end of the value spectrum. I know what your problem is, Jeff. It is rather simple if you step back and look at it. I seem to recall similar unknown and expected findings with your Cardinal? Now problems have unexpectantly showed up in your Cherokee. Don't you see it, Jeff? It obviously is the ACME Flying Machine taking it's revenge. You sold this loyal friend of yours. And then you bought the Cardinal. Which, at first, seemed the perfect deal. But, Abbra Cadabra.........The ACM put a curse on it. So you sold it. Then, what happened? The ACM all of a sudden came back on the market again. Coincidence? I think not. It wanted to forgive you and was willing to take you back. But no! You rejected the ACM again and purchased the Cherokee. Oh! The wrath of a spurned airplane. You are doomed, Jeff!

Yeah....I miss the AFM, and you are only partly correct. I did call on her before I made the decision on the Cherokee, and found she had taken up residence with some Texan. A TEXAN FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! What kind of Loyalty is that I ask you... | | | | Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 13,969 Member/10,000+ posts! | Member/10,000+ posts! Well Jeff, I can see where the AFM just grew weary of waiting on you to make a decision. And just finally accepted the first owner that came along that was willing to show it some affection. You really cannot blame the AFM for this, can you Jeff? Sigh..........It just so happened that out of this desperation it turned to a Texan. ............ Sigh! | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 9,815 Likes: 129 Member/7500+posts | Member/7500+posts Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 9,815 Likes: 129 | It wouldn't be the first betrayed airplane that turned to a Texan for love. Did I say woman or airplane? Oh, I can't remember. It doesn't matter, anyway. Their needs are the same.

According to Bruce Williams, who gives financial advices in the newspapers: "Parents don't owe their kids a college education. Let the kids put themselves through college. They'll learn the values of money and being independent". Indeed, I lived at home with my parents and went to the local state college, now Columbus State University. While my parents did feed and shelter me, and dad certainly did spend money on things for me, I worked (grocery store bag boy and labatory assistant to a professor at the college, and later near the end, an apprentice aircraft mechanic) and paid for my books and tuition, car insurance, gas, PPL lessons, and other things. I went to my boss and told him of my dilema. He then proceded to tell me about the raise I was getting! Well, I would like to think I had a big part in this, but it seems we/our group are all getting a raise. We have been underpaid for some time, and are now getting our due...
Now, if I can get this deal on track I will be one of the "gang"...

Perhaps I'll try that line next Monday "Boss, I need a raise to buy a (bigger) plane". | | | | Joined: Jan 2004 Posts: 13,969 Member/10,000+ posts! | Member/10,000+ posts!
