I am trying to find a child Seat for my 1966 C150F - preferably with the hardware.
We've priced the new version and while a viable option, it requires a 337, where as the original only requires a logbook entry and updated W&B.
If anyone can help me, I'd genuinely appreciate it. We have a little boy, and if I can't find a solution by next spring, I am likely to move up to a 172. Can't say I would object, but I promised my wife I'd keep trying to find a solution with our present C-150F.
Thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 141 Member/100+posts | Member/100+posts Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 141 | I see the older style seats on Ebay quite often. Have you been searching that site for them?
You should also be aware of what the seat looks like and what part numbers are on it so that when you see a seat come up for auction you can verify it's the proper seat.
For what it's worth, it took me over a year to find the right seat with hardware for my plane. I passed on many seats that were for older planes. Be wary of those ad's that say they fit all Cessna 150's etc. That can not be said of all seats that have been made.
If you have an IPC you have all you need to find the seat, if not post back and I'll look up some data for you.

Thanks - I have been watching EBay, no luck. When they are available it is the hardware that becomes the issue. We gave in and ordered the new version - still cheaper than moving up to a 172 for those few times I need 4 seats, which are indeed few and far between.
Thanks again

My grandson got too old for mine within 6 months, so I resold it before I even got it installed. | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 69 Member | Member Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 69 | I received this partial email today regarding a new STC child seat. Their website shows all the 150/152 models included in the STC. I am planning on ordering one soon. Hope this helps. The price of the Ce 152 child seat is $1010.00. It seems to me that there wouldn't be enough headroom without omnivision, is that an optical illusion?
On a similar topic, I frequently get requests for 337's to enlarge the baggage area on the earlier airplanes. Anyone have experience or observations about that issue? | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 8,433 Likes: 3 Member/7500+posts | Member/7500+posts Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 8,433 Likes: 3 | Quote: Basically, you gotta have a back window or it isn't approved.
It seems to me that there wouldn't be enough headroom without omnivision, is that an optical illusion? Actually, there was a childs seat for the straight backs, but it was made of the corrugated aluminum like flaps and ailerons, riveted to aluminum angle. Its in the Parts Book. I have one for a Cessna 140, nearly identical but not the same. Need to sell it, just taking up space. The Childs seat in those early models fit againist the back of the baggage compartment and the seat back was hinged at top so it could lift up for access to the battery. Made the baggage compartment usless for anything else. Charles | | |
