The headroom is not as important as the hip room when you have two big people in a 150. Without an actual 150 for you to sit in, try this: find two small office chairs as shown in the attachment, put them side-by-side with no gap between the seats. You and your buddy sit in the chairs and see how it feels. Can you move your arms to work the (imaginary) controls without elbowing each other? Can you sit like that for 1-2 hrs or however long your typical flight is?

In the plane the seats can, and most likely, be staggered.
Question is,
do you mind if your buddy puts his arm around you? wink

I would send him diving out the door without a parachute grin.

Well now I was ready to write off the 150 plan, but cuddle time... hmmm I haven't had any action in a while...

Yes that was sarcasm!

But you have got me thinking?.. Somebody else messaged me that the head to toe length was more of a issue because the seat won't go far enough back because of a ledge? I would expect that all 150's are the same size inside from the pedals to the backrest?
Maybe I'll just pull out the seat and give him a pillow to sit on!

Did you allege that there's a ledge? grin I don't know about a 150, but a 152 does have a ledge. But the seats will move as far back as Cessna intended for them to move (notice that the holes for the stop-pins are only on the front half of the tracks). My flying buddy is 6'2" and he doesn't have to move the seat all the way back when he flies.

You can create a free account at photobucket.com then upload your pictures to it. Then provide the links to them using the 2nd-from-left icon above the box where you post a reply or a new post.

Yes the 150 cabin is small. After not flying for 39 years, I was concerned I couldn't get in it as my back is bad...took 5 minutes to get in! Ha. But lots of fun once I did. You may consider just renting until you decide on what model. Possibly go to Clinton flyin and you will see a lot. I also have have some big friends as well....if you fly mainly by yourself or with medium size friends a 150 maybe ok to own. Then when you want to fly a bigger person just rent a 172. Flying in higher terrain does have its challenges. Phoenix is only 1134 feet above sea level, no prob for a 150....but flying in AZ mountains during the summer you have to be very careful.

Mary Lou (1977 M model 150, 22 serial numbers away from the 152) has a small ledge.
