I find myself in the pickle of needing replacement McCauley wheels for a 152 (with SN above 15280900). According to the service manual, I need the "B" option wheels, part numbers listed below. At a minimum I know I'll need 2 inner wheel halves, and possibly 1 or 2 outer halves, so preferably the whole wheels. It's either find some used ones in good condition or bite the bullet and buy the replacement Cleveland wheel/brake kit which is about $1500! eek (and it technically requires a field approval, but should be easy with a part-by-part replacement referencing the alternate wheels called out in the service manual)

If anyone knows of any available wheels that fit my needs, it would be most greatly appreciated!

Wheel Assembly C163006-0101 (i believe includes):
Inboard wheel half D30662
Outboard wheel half D30657

Thanks!

Matt,

I may have what you need.

I converted Sierra to Cleveland's last year and have the original McCauley's in my hanger with the old tires still mounted to them.

I have not had them apart in years as I've only serviced the wheel bearings at each annual and that does not require the wheel halves to be separated.

My serial number is 15279996. If the part numbers you have apply to my serial number you're welcome to these.

I really should dismount the tires and look them (the wheels) over for corrosion and cracks to make sure they're okay. One never knows what you'll find.

Hmmmm.... there are two configs according to the parts manual, A and B. A is for SN 15279406 to 15280899.

B is for SN15280900 and up which is where mine falls. I wounder what the difference could possibly be?!?

So close and so tempting!

Any idea what they came off of Bengie?

Yeah, Jim, it's frustrating. We are having a discussion over in Tech Questions, but that discussion is mostly towards upgrading to Cleveland. What approach did you take Jim, buy the "Cessna" retrofit kit? Did the install instructions happen to have a breakdown of all the individual parts? I'm assuming the wheel came with the proper spacers, races installed, and bearings supplied? (not that it's hard to install them, but...)

I'm waiting to get my floor jack and stands back from a friend so I can take the wheels off, clean them up and get any/all numbers off the wheels themselves.

haha, nice. 3-piece meaning they are 3-piece wheels or the brake disc being the third piece?

Do you have a stockpile of ebay Cessna parts lying around there cause they went for the right price?? laugh whistle

They're definitely 3-pcs. Left, right and center hub. (6) pcs. if you count both mains. No brake discs.

And......

yes. blush
