Just a thought brother! Oh, and buyers beware, I think with all the rubbing Jeff gave that 150 of his I believe he may have removed some of that fresh paint! {just kidding}

Bill, good point about the 182...Bill, showing my ignorance here, but what about a 180 engine in a 172, or is that essentially the same thing? MM

Good point Mike. There's a 172 on the field in Eufaula, AL that just had the 180 conversion/prop installed. It performs like a 172 should have performed all along. The owner bought a Columbia 350, so the 172 has to go.

Jeff, it may be right down your alley:
Fair paint & interior for 70K.

172 with 180HP is a good idea. There is a MGTOW increase to 2550 lbs depending on wich conversion you get.

I just wanted to mention the 182 idea to Jeff before he went out and bought a 172, did a total restoration, and discover the 182 and have to go thru it all a 3rd time!! Just lookin out for ya man!

I'm keeping my options open on several ideas. Already thought about a 182 but if I go to 180 I'll be thinking about several other models as well.

Jeff,

It will be sad to see 73J move on but it makes sense to fly a machine that fits the mission. To bad it isn't a tailwheel. laugh

Have you thought about a Hawk XP? A friend has one and it is a good mix between the 172 and a 182. It has a 190hp (I think) Continental engine. The only downside with the original engines is the 1200 TBO. He recently had a factory reman installed that brought the TBO up to 1800 hours though.

As Mike Marra mentioned, if you email a copy of your ad up here I'll print it out and post it at airports local to the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania.

You still have the video we shot out in Clinton right?

Thanks Ed & Mike, I'll do that. I'll have a flyer ASAP. Of course I have the video. I watched it like porn for a while.

If I go to 180hp, I'll have to seriously consider a Cardinal. As a matter of fact, that would be my first choice. Nothing out there beats the room or the view with no strut. As far as I'm concerned, that was Cessna's nicest 4-place they ever made.

Jeff, havn't seen an ad on Barnstormers for your plane yet, it's a free service, might be worth your while.

That's where I bought my 150 as well! The site works and it's free unless you want to make a donation.
