It will be sad to see 73J move on but it makes sense to fly a machine that fits the mission. To bad it isn't a tailwheel.
Have you thought about a Hawk XP? A friend has one and it is a good mix between the 172 and a 182. It has a 190hp (I think) Continental engine. The only downside with the original engines is the 1200 TBO. He recently had a factory reman installed that brought the TBO up to 1800 hours though.
