That's how it should be Frederic. In Florida you pay sales tax, and that's it. In my home state we had to pay a yearly tax to the county, which was based on aircraft value determined by the county - on top of which you had to buy a state aircraft license every year, which seemed to do nothing but generate enough money to pay for the "freebies" they sent handed out.

Calif. - "unscheduled" Personal Property Tax assessed by each County - 1% of the A.V., plus a little extra stuff for mosquito abatement, etc...

You are right John I forgot the NavCanada fee. Altough it is not a property tax, NavCanada charges for their services 76$/year.

Then again I'm not too happy with the $25 annual fee for US customs, when everything but my gun was free for Canada.

No annual property tax, registration fees, etc. on aircraft in CO. A 3% state sales/use tax when first purchased. Local municipalities and counties can have their own sales/use taxes in addition to a few special tax districts for things like mass transit. As I'm located in an unincorporated area of a county without a sales/use tax, I only had to pay the state sales/use tax.

I guess I have it pretty good in CO compared to other states.

No taxes on aircraft in Pennsylvania. I believe a 6% sales tax if purchased in state.
