After years of deluding myself that someday I would have more money and time, I've decided to start flying again. My Third Class has to go to the Regional Flight Surgeon but my doc seems to think I will get a waiver. Meanwhile, I am already lusting after some of the 150's in the classifieds. My question is probably not exactly answerable, but would a $15,000 150 in fair shape but high engine hours be a good direction to go? I don't have mechanic training, tools or even a shop, so getting a place to work and learning basic skills would be a project in itself. Meanwhile could I fly safely without a major overhaul? See? I told you it would be an easy answer.
