Your post is a little misleading! After reading the other post, I find that you already own a 150F with a high time engine! The plane isn't going to fall out of the sky when it reaches TBO, but it will probably need an overhaul sooner than later. That said, I have seen the occasional O-200 go to 3,000 hrs without overhaul, but these were engines that were flown everyday, and had an excellent preventative maintenance program in flight school environments. Any engine that's not run often or neglected will be hard pressed to make it to TBO!
