It just may be that the wife falls in love with Sally over time and decides she (Sally) is not going anywhere.......you never know.
I'd go this route and throw the extra money at the Bonanza.
I know the turmoil that you're going through, though. Several times a year I look up my previous planes just to see how they're doing........I'm cursed that way and in some ways even twisted.
Go for the gold......Sally would want you to grab all the gusto you can.
