I would have to agree with Kendel, why not reskin it? If I have learned anything from my project, it is that you never know for sure what you get with used parts. I looked on McFarlane and precut replacement skins are reasonable. When you got done, you would not only know what you have but could also get the experience of doing it(with your mechanics help).
