Darryn,
Okay, I've done two things, three actually when you count searching through the past threads on this subject. I should have done that earlier to find the part number Chuck mentioned. My fault!
First, my company subscribes to a parts locator much like ILS only less expensive. When I ran the -1 and -2 there were some companies out there that listed stock available. Since today is a holiday they will be closed, so I'll contact them tomorrow for information. If they have web sites and fax numbers, I'll get that info also as that might be the easiest to commuicate with these folks. Once you have an email address, you'll be able to send pictures of the landing gear condition back and forth.
Second, I took a look through the Trade-A-Plane for salvage yards here in the U.S. You might want to browse through some of these web sites to see if anything might catch your fancy. No since in me contacting these people when you can do the same thing. Here goes:
www.wentworthaircraft.com [
wentworthaircraft.com]
www.asod.com [
asod.com]
www.globalparts.com [
globalparts.com]
www.cent-air.com [
cent-air.com]
www.dawsonaircraft.com [
dawsonaircraft.com]
www.whiteindustries.com [
whiteindustries.com]
I can't remember if you said the name of the company in CA that you got the last gear from but if it wasn't O.K. Aircraft Parts, Inc., their email is "okair@sbcglobal.net".
See what you can find on the net and I'll make some phone calls this week. Perhaps we can help you find what you're looking for. As a side note, I have done business with some of the above companies and they seem to be reliable. However, with any used part, you have to be very careful on it's condition. Tagged, inspected, as well as their return policy are just a few things we need to ask about.
As a last resort, and Chuck may be able to help out here, is this landing gear repairable? Can the corrison be eliminated and recoated for protection and repainted? Just curious about our opinions here.
See ya!
