As for insurance, here are quotes I got:

1. 1963 172, value $38,000, premium $1033

2. 1961 Beech 35-A33 Debonair, value $60,000, premium $2112

What a difference between the planes!, but I think the costs of operating a Beech Debonair would be double a 172.
