The Zenith CH750 has my vote and will probably be my choice if/when I have to go LS.

The factory is about 80 miles NW of St. Louis at Mexico, MO. I got my TD training there. The Zenith guys would roll the 701 model (the only STOL version they had then) out of the hangar, fire it up, and take off from their ramp. The plane would be at 100 ft by the time it reached the regular taxiway and climbing like a scared cat up a tree.

Awesome to watch.

The only caveat: I'll have to carry a gallon pee jar when I fly XC. Realistic cruise is around 85kt.
