My partner has almost decided that he cannot fit his 6'3" self in the C150 much longer. But we heard that there is a modification of the seat that can move the 'seat back', back another 3" or so. (Of course the seat tracks cannot be moved back due to the mechanical structure of the floor). Supposedly, the idea was to move the seat padding behind the upright supports to give the pilot more room. Has anybody heard of something like this?

You could install Aerobat seats. They fit the rails the same as standard, and the cushions are quickly and easily removable to make room for parachutes. He could have Shelby at TN Wings make him special low profile seat cushions that would be legal. He uses his when he flies, you use the original.

Excellent idea, Carl, but seems more expensive than the alternative.

Just chop his legs off. He doesn't need them that badly.

WHOA THERE GREM! shocked
Our 150s need all the rudder action they can get in a stiff X-wind. Seems to me you'd be cutting off his nose to save the face....

No wait, that's not right...

Cutting off his legs to save his, uh....er...

Nevermind.

You get my drift, (or crosswind)so to speak grin

You can manipulate the rudders with stubs.

Yeah, Grem is right -

but he needs his feet for the pedals . . . take the 3 inches off of the TOP of his legs.

Ah yes, the Promethian approach. If the guest is too tall for the bed, cut off his legs.
