Can anyone tell me why Essco Aircraft sells '60s POHs for $12 and '70s for $31?! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
Try calling Cessna direct. They sell the "Pilot?s Operating Handbook" for a Cessna 150M for only $26. Straight from the horse's mouth - no fuzzy copies or dog-eared hand-me-downs. Call them at 316-517-5800 Monday thru Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Central Time USA. The part number for the 1977 150M manual is D1080-13.
As for why Essco sells the older manuals for so much less? That's because when the Cessna 150 was introduced, marketing had this "great idea" that they would give away the owner's manuals to high schools to drum up interest in the new plane. Thus, they had to pare down the manual to the bare essentials to keep the printing costs low and not overwhelm the students (See? Flying a plane is so easy, you can do it in only 10 pages!).
Later manuals put in some much needed information (like emergency procedures...), but the early 60's manuals were slim indeed.
