I'm just wondering if it would be a good idea to call the owner. There may be a reason that he worked out the deal wiht the FBO, what if he has a signed agreement for the FBO to sell the plane.

If an apology to the FBO does not get the negotiations started again, I would go elsewhere.

Just my opinion. That and a dollar and a half will get you a cup of coffee.

Just to respond to an earlier post, I didn't tell the broker he was horrible, that's just what I had in mind

Anyhow, just got off the phone with him and we worked it out. He's had some bad experiences with buyers the last couple days as I have with sellers. I didn't think suggesting he was hiding something would rub him the wrong way but it did. No worries, all was explained and we're back on track now.

I let him know what I was willing to spend and he's goin to talk to the owner about the offer before I fly up to see it. That was at least a mild compromise. I'll let you all know how it goes. Keep your fingers crossed!

Good for you. In those situations...gettin on the horn will clear them up most of the time, and if the guy is talking to you again, then he may be a reasonable fellow.

Hope it works out.

Good for you David. I have always believed that when an issue comes up, the best way to handle it, is first in person, second over the phone, and the last resort is by writing.

I had a situation once where a friend emailed me about how they felt about something. I printed up the email, went over to their house and rang the door bell. Much better.

Good luck on the airplane.

Where in NJ is the plane located? I'll be flying there tomorrow on business. If it's on the way I can snap a few photos for you.

It's located in Berlin, NJ at 19N. I appreciate the help, but I don't want anyone to go out of their way. If the owner negotites some more on price, I'm going to fly up over the weekend to take a better look at it. Thanks for the offer though, I really appreciate it!

Well, he doesn't want to come down to my price. Looks like I'm going to have to wait him out or just walk away. ...for now. It's ok though, I've got my eye on another bird in GA.

On a side note, what 150s come with pitot heat? Was that always just an option or was it standard on some?
