The only problem is, the airport's FBO is brokering the plane for the owner and the guy is HORRIBLE. I posted our email exchange below. I called him at first to get some info on the aircraft and request pictures since he did not respond to my first email. He then sent me the pics in Black/white. You can read the rest of the conversation below.
If he were the owner, I'd walk away right now. But he's not, and the aircraft appears to be exactly what I've been looking for. Is there a way to find the owner? I know his name from the document search but can't find his number or address. Can anyone else help me? The aircraft is registered to James Buividas under N2891X.
Also, please let me know if you think my email was calus. I wouldn't have dreamt of the response that I got! Did I say something wrong??
---------email transactions---------------
B/W pics sent after phone conversation as well as 2 log pages for the engine overhaul, then the email conversation is as follows... ---------------- Thanks Karl. Not to be a pain, but can you send some color pics please. These are all B/W and mostly out of focus. I can't get a good idea of the paint or interior with these.
Also, I got the logs you sent over, appreciate it. I'm def interested. I'll need to see all logs of the engine overhaul and since engine overhaul though. It shouldn't be too much to fax. I'll have to look into the addition of a CDI with GS functionality. Can you please also send me the log page that shows the installation of the LOC receiver.
Thanks! David -------
Hi Dave.............Since you are not that far away, I think it would make sense for you to come here & see the aircraft. You could then inspect the log books & see the 150 personally without photos. If you would like to set up an appointment to see it, let me know. Thanks, Karl ------ Karl, I'm sorry, but I'm not that close and I'm extremely busy with my job. I need color photos and some of the logs. You've got me very concerned that you're hiding something now. You're at least a 5-6hr drive from me. I'm 100% willing to do that if I decide to buy the plane but I need some more information. There are tons of 150s out there and most of them look great until you see some of the logs or better pics. Please at the very least send me the color pics. We can talk about the logs after I see the pics. I'm very serious about making an offer if this plane turns out good. I am ready to buy with cash but please understand I can't make a commitment without more information.
Thanks for understanding, David ------ Dave........Since you believe that I'm "hiding something", I'm withdrawing my offer to sell this 150 to you. If you can't take the time to personally inspect the 150 as I suggested, then I don't believe your a serious buy. Direct your efforts to the "tons of 150's" for sale Best regards, Karl --------------- Karl, What kind of professional response is that? I'm serious about purchasing the 150. I'm not sure where this aggression is coming from. I don't believe I said anything offensive. I will call you over lunch to talk more about the aircraft. If you don't wish to deal with me, I'll contact Mr. Buividas myself. I'm not trying to offend you or aggravate you in any way, I'm trying to make an educated decision to purchase a plane. I don't understand why you do not want to co-operate with me but I will give you a call at lunch. | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 12,760 Member/10,000+ posts! | Member/10,000+ posts! His number's not listed in the yellow pages but I googled his address and found it was a real state business. Got the number. Will give him a call later. I hope he's more co-operative than the FBO! Yup. You think he's HORRIBLE? Tell me I'm hiding something and my response would make the one posted seem pretty mild. And why is it the exact 150 you are looking for? I'd take his advice.

Yeah...hate to agree on this one, but "hiding something" screams of LIAR, CHEAT, THIEF...to a lot of people. He is making a decision to say, hey....if you think I am lying then forget it. Better approach might have been to enlist a club member to go take a look and get pictures for you. If you use that approach on the owner now, you may already be doomed unless you can come up with a very strong apology. I had a guy pull that on my Cardinal. He calls my mechanic (without my permission) and says something like, "I think this guy is desperate, so I am going to talk him way down". Next time the guy emailed me, I told him that I would not sell him the airplane and go find another. Don't mean to beat you up, but that is where email can be a real drag on negotiations. Whereas you probably didn't mean what you said, that is how many would interpret it. Hope it works out for you though. | | | | Joined: Dec 2003 Posts: 7,197 Likes: 2 Member/5000+posts! | Member/5000+posts! God I hate it when I do something like that <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> But, if you know exactly where the airplane is maybe there's a club member near enough to go look at it for you(?)...possibly getting the photos you want, etc. THEN...if you're still interested, call the sales guy, eat some crow (in his mind you're a difficult buyer now), and go from there.
