Yep, I had to take my bride on a beautiful afternoon flight today. We chose FFC, Falcon Field in Peachtree City, just so we could go to Aircraft Spruce and do a little shopping. Turned into a slow flight going up, 80 knots GS with gusting winds out of the NW, a 25* correction to stay on course and a haze layer around 4000'. I went on up to 5500'.
Attached is a picture of the FBO. Home of the "Delta Pilots Ghetto!"
Looks GREAT, Jim. Oh, one thing, actually two. The air filter bracket should have baffle seals all the way around it, between the lower cowling and the filter edges. Seems yours is missing.
see attached
Second thing, the gas cap is crooked on the left wing. This is a fairly simple but time consuming fix and Charles or Kirk may be able to help you out with the technical side of it, as I believe they've done a post or two on it before.
Overall, it was a veeeery pretty plane. Hope you get many years enjoyment out of it.
We had a smooth ride home as the sun went low on the western horizon, level at 4.5, fewer bumps and 300* at 4 kts. by the time we touched down on Rwy. 31 in Columbus. Nice day indeed.
Now, tomorrow it's off to S. AL to try and catch up with Mr. Lumgair!
You were in a pretty little blue and almost yellow 150 yes?? I think you just missed me!!! Was there moments before or after you. Yup, I know about the gas cap and the baffle, all little things I can fix over the next few weeks/months. I must have just got back and finished up there when you happened by. My A&P who looked her over noticed the gas cap almost immediately, he dint seem real concerned about it. I'm not, but its one of those things I will HAVE to get fixed
Im a perfectionist! Hope to see you around sooner than later!
Come on Carl, you know it is actually done in a miniature diarama in his garage.... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
That's old school - Really, Bengie just used Photoshop to place his airplane into a picture he took from the Aircraft Spruce catalog!

OH! There is a much simpler way to fix crooked gas caps then tear your wing apart. Keep your eyes peeled for a set of Monarch fuel caps. They show up now and again on ebay and Barnstormers.
