Upon Lionel's suggestion, I'm starting a post to see if anyone is close to this aircraft...if so, perhaps they can take a look at it for me? The seller is going to be out of town next week...but will take some additional photos of the carpet, seats, engine & exhaust (cowling removed).

Shout out to David_P for finding what I think is a gem...

'63 150C [barnstormers.com]

Here's the info the seller provided to myself and Daivd:

* Compressions are 76-76-76-78/80
* No damage history, log books back to the original signoff
* 5900TT, 440 SMOH
* STC millenium cylinders on totally overhauled engine (work done in Floriday - he'll get me the name)
* Has a new crank, not rebuilt
* MX 300 radio
* New Transponder
* New voltage regulator
* Upgraded 35Amp generator
* Panel re-done in 2003
* All ADs complied with
* Purchased in 2003
* Paint is ~ 13 years old...looks better in photos than in real life.

Thanks also to Reg Scotland who gave me his views towards owning this vintage of aircraft and some comments on this specific aircraft - (a little high on the TTSN, but definitely worth a look)

Thanks to Lionel as well - who spend his time with me on the phone this morning discussing his experience in importing a 150...what a great community!!!

Tell you what, though... if anything ever happens to my beautiful plane that I have right now, I'm going to go with a fastback!! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

Not enough baggage room for us. But, I wonder if Justina would let me have an airplane just for me to putz around in locally?

That would be a good situation. A Cross Country machine and a local cruiser. I wouldn't mind that.

Go 50/50 Jeff? We'll just meet in Clinton each year to pass it on to the other until the following year?

Ya better hurry and snatch it up Rob before Jeff and I have much of a chance to ponder this!

Rob,

I like the plane. From the description of the engine condition, I don't see where you could go wrong with this one. When it comes to early Cessna's, a good grasp on the issues Charles Hanna lists on his home page is invaluable.

I like the looks of this one. I really like the fast backs. If you can live without the extra baggage room, I think it'd be a dandy.

As for Jeff and Bill's bantering, Jeff is only talk, and Bill is too far away! He'd never buy a plane that isn't already in Oregon...
