And at the $76,000 asking price, the owner wants somebody to pay for all of them!
It's kinda like adding horsepower mods to an engine. On paper, 10 mods that add a 10% power increase apiece individually won't add up to a 100% power increase collectively ...... lucky if you get 20% total!
Lots of mods, and it is "colorful", but I don't think his plane is worth the opening bid!
Why on earth did he revert to the earlier model instrument panel???? It has damage history, too, and the registration is still pending?! I think he bought a project and rebuilt it strictly for resale. He needs 4-seats, indeed! The cockpit section maybe from an earlier airplane, and the tail cone from a later one! Gotta wonder if he just transfered the data plate!
I HOPE I'm completely wrong about this, but it looks "funny" to me, on the surface of things!
Wow, this thing must have every mod and gadget available...
Naw, he missed the Rosen Visors, Precise Flight air vents, vertical card compass, vernier power controls, Digital Volt meter, Temperpedic foam seats, and LONG RANGE TANKS.
I've seen this plane; it was shown to me back in October when I landed at Benson to take photos of another 150. Supposedly all these changes where modifications, but I suspect Carl's right....the easiest way to convert to a long dorsal fin is to replace the whole tail cone....maybe that's only way to do it?
I've never heard of a STC to install landing lights on the other wing, either. I wouldn't be suprised if everything was done without the proper paperwork. Could that be part of the registration problem?
Have to admit, I was left with a funny feeling about it, too.
Not sure if mine photos show anything useful, but I'll give it shot....
First picture is the panel. Think its got a little higher resolution than the ebay photo. Also, I noticed in my pictures, the plane has a vertical compass. The ebay photos show the standard one...
