I think that's the problem here - a big length of safety-wire between two bolts, obviously pulling one in the 'loosen' direction. Right on the front of the engine, plain as day, and yet the mechanic didn't cut it off and re-do it. Was he apathetic or ignorant? If he can't get such a simple task right or be bothered to fix it when wrong, what else might be lurking, sight unseen? [/quote]
Thank you Kirk, my point exactly.

But, I still make mistakes (rarely, but I make them). Cut it off and re-do it! No big deal! I think that's the problem here - a big length of safety-wire between two bolts, obviously pulling one in the 'loosen' direction. I do understand your reasoning, and if I knew the technician, I might agree with you. But, there's no way to know if this is apathy, ignorance, or simply oversight! Based on my own experience, I think it's more than likely just oversight. Tell me you guys have never looked high and low for something lost that was "hidden" in plain sight! Same thing. We all sometimes see what we expect to see. He may have walked by it 15 times and never noticed, and finally seeing it on the 16th look would swear it wasn't like that before (my colleagues at work were famous for that! Somebody must've changed it when they weren't looking!) This is why I always have someone else inspect my work, especially when it's going to be hidden from view. I learned that in the Navy, where they understood how this happens, and required Collateral Duty Inspector sign-off and Quality Assurance Inspector sign-off for almost every task performed on an airplane! My other post still stands! Take nothing for granted! Have a good look! | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 12,760 Member/10,000+ posts! | Member/10,000+ posts! I realise there can be different installations. Are there those systems for 150s (maybe the M20) that separate oil from both the engine breather and from the wet vac? Nonetheless, I don't care for the largish gap left where the hose runs through the baffling. Dang, I looked right at that blasted safety wire. Well, Jim, you did say micro, didn't you? I saw dang near everything else mentioned, but thought those couldn't be it. Right there in front.....

Still no title after a month, although the owner said he had a clear title. No money has changed hands as of yet. What a f-ing mess. The plane is scattered over three hangers. Parts missing that were said to with the aircraft. Two major repairs that the owner did not know about that I found in the complete log books. Unapproved parts used in some areas and approved parts used but no supporting paper work. I offered him a much lower price to take it off his hands. He will call on Mon. Wow, I'm glad no money changed hands! I thought I took a good look at the pictures, too. | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 2,852 Member/2500+posts | Member/2500+posts Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 2,852 | Nevermind. I answered my own question with a quick search. I honestly didn't know they'd do both.

I am in the middle of a great big brain fart here. But, I just do not recall ever having an actual title in hand with either of our two airplanes?? And I do not recall signing a title over to John with 72G? Just the aircrafts registration. Am I loosing it here?? | | | | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 10,735 Likes: 108 $ Member/10,000+ posts! | $ Member/10,000+ posts! The registration and A/W certs are the only real "title" an aircraft owner has.
