Finding the right airplane is like finding a good wife.
Most of us at some point in time, have had the opportunity to date the cheerleader, the homecoming queen, the fairy queen, whatever. In most cases, these are not the women that we marry.
The right wife is the beautiful young woman, whom by her very presence, inspires us to become more than we ever thought we could.
This was the case for me, a student pilot, and a first time aircraft owner. When I was looking to purchase my first plane, I looked at a lot of beautiful "Hanger Queens." Like the "Prom Queens," they were beautiful, tempramental, high maintence, and expensive.
I discovered as a new pilot, what I really needed, was an airplane like my wife. A beautiful creature, that when I said "lets go on a trip," that she is ready to go with very little fuss. And like my wife, a little TLC goes a long ways. She dosen't require fancy fuels, or high priced polishes, and she has a gentle and calm disposition, that even when I make a mistake, she is forgiving and easy to handle. Both my wife, and N150RW, have given me wings and alowed me to soar, thought I must admit, in very different ways.
So finding the right plane is like finding the perfect wife. Just make sure that the wife knows that she comes first, and let her fly the plane form time to time.

I agree whole-heartedly. After 34 years I still consider proposing to my wife was probably the smartest thing I've ever done. She's made me happier than any man deserves to be. Unfortunately she suffers from a fear of heights and cannot share my love of flying. If she could overcome that phobia I would enjoy my airplane more than ever.

Oh great... I've been searching for 20 years and haven't found one of those, either.

Lol I thought you were going to say the good ones are hard to find and if you think their expensive to rent just wait until you own one.

35 years this past April! My marriage is just 16 months older than my airplane (150K)! 3 years and 4 months older than my CAR (VW Karmann Ghia), and 10 years older than my TV (RCA)!

Once you've found quality, you stick with it!
