Wanted: Garmin GTX 327 backplate and cables

A Cessna 150 buddy is in need of a digital transponder, so I acquired a Garmin 327 for him in very good condition. We fly a lot together and have been friends for decades.

Anyway, we need a backplate and the cables to finish installing it in his 150.

Does anyone have these items from an old panel project that you no longer need?

I will be happy to compensate you for them and of course, pay for the shipping, etc.

Thanks. Mike

Call White Industries @ 816-690-8800. They have a new name now but still in business. Or call Ken Orr @308-390-5974.

I bought a radio on eBay several years ago. It didn't arrive with the required tray and backplate. I called the seller and told him the picture he posted had a tray. He said he only had the radio. I had already called White Industries and they sold me the tray for $100.00. I got thew seller to re-emberse me for $100.00. So with inflation, $175.00 might be about right. If you want me to I can call my contact at White.

Ron, I have called around and gotten a few referrals...still looking.

Thanks on the $175 estimate opinion - I may have to pull the trigger on that as this item is a bit more challenging to find than I initially considered.

Mike, I just went thru this with a 327 and a 430W I got with out trays, back plates and connectors.

$175 seems a little high unless it includes a connector kit. Plug, back shell, pins and hold down.

What I ran into was many on eBay do not have the connector kit at all and some even don’t have the RF adapter. But there is hope. Most All the parts for the kit can be sourced from Digikey and they are the exact same ones Garmin included originally. The hardest part to find is the hold down bar. You might have to get a 430 set on eBay.

Here is one that looks good but does needs the connector kit.
eBay [ebay.com]

I can give you some links to the connector parts if you need it.

Thanks Jason!

Well, I may have read your post a half a day too late as I purchased the tray, back plate and connector cables for $175.

True, I may have paid a bit more.... thanks for trying to help me

So, I think I now have ALL the components I need to help my buddy Cal to have a newish digital transponder so we can all see him (electronically) and so that he can get ADSB out in the future.

This is a gift to him for being such a good guy and always doing good things for others. I didn't want to wait too much longer!

Thanks to everyone for the assistance and advise! I'll let you know how this works out!
