On the fence…but I installed Bubble Windows in my doors back in March and don’t love them. I have patroller windows also in my doors for the kiddo to see out.

I’m ordering new clear windows to remove my bubbles and hope to have it done before the fly-in next month but we will see.

If you’d be interested in purchasing my bubbles, I’d love to have them go to someone that’ll use them. They are the LP Aero ones…$327 brand new from them.

Make me an offer and I can even squeeze them into my plane an bring to Clinton vs ship

Cam, I am thinking about it...

A few dumb questions for you:

Do they change performance at all? My goodness I don't want to climb or fly any slower...

Will they cause my aircraft covers to NOT fit, meaning are they really that protrusive?

How are photographs affected by using a camera through the bubble windows?

Thanks - Mike

Performance- yeah, I’m getting 10knots slower currently

Covers- good question, I can try my cover this weekend and see!

Photos- no issues I’ve noticed…but probably around the edges it would distort, I’ll attach a few photos taken thru them

Yeah. It’s one of the reasons I’m okay with them being removed. I love the arm rest they provide and the ability to lean out some but they slow it down a lil bit. I will probably have them on in Clinton still as my replacements aren’t here yet…so it’ll you’re there, you’re welcome to hop in an see them/try them

Cam,

I would love the extra elbow room and ability to take better photos - though not enamored with losing speed and having to order all new cabin covers...significant tradeoffs for me.

Need to think about it harder...

Thanks for offering them and for the photos of how it looks from the inside.

I acquired a 150 tailwheel project last year that came with bubble windows. My plan is to build up a second set of doors, complete with the same lower patroller windows and matching paint scheme, but without the bubble windows. That way, I can easily swap between bubble and non-bubble depending on the mission.

I think if I had the aerobat hinges with the pins I’d do the same

You could take the existing pins out of your hinges and replace with removable ones.
