Wanted: Garmin GTX 327 w/Tray

-Looking for a digital transponder for a guy I fly with -- I can never see him on the FISH FINDER (aka ADSB) because he has a very ancient NARCO analog transponder -- comes and goes and is only visible for brief moments at a time! He does not have ADSB out...

-So, hoping I can find him something to install so he can be seen in our formations - thanks!

-Maybe you recently upgraded and have one lying around on a shelf somewhere....

-It will be for a Cessna 150.

Does he have a GPS in the airplane?

If so I’ve got a Stratus ES that is ADSB in/out capable for sale. But I will check out shelves at the avionics shop here in a little bit

I do not think so - in fact he hardly has anything in that plane that works, and we simply have to help him get equipped as our area is getting a CLASS C dropped in on us for no obvious reasons...and it will affect things here in Central PA.

Separate issue/note, but SOP for formation (and ATC's expectation) is to have the leader squawk 1203 when maneuvering VFR and the remainder of the aircraft go to standby. My understanding is that helps inhibit collision warnings and lets the ATC folks know it's more than one aircraft.

I know at least one club member has a working when removed KT76A available, and I suspect mine (which was working great, but is getting replaced with a 327 for ease of operation) would be up for grabs within the next week or two if the need still exists.

Owner of the ship I believe will have a Garmin 327 here soon. I think we are removing one from a Navion due upgrade! I’ll shoot him a text to confirm here an then message you his number

I asked yesterday while there working if he had any upstairs on the shelf or if that was it and I am pretty sure he’s got one or two available

Mike, I have a new, never used, GTX 327, I purchased new from Stein Air and had wired for my panel but never installed it in my airplane. I decided to go with the GTX 345 instead. I was holding onto it for a future project but it appears that might not be on the horizon any longer. Make me an offer I can't refuse!
