Cary,

That is a nice TKM MX300!

I have 3 now, but for anyone who has one or two, it is really nice to have a third to swap when they go bad or even start to go bad. You can have a working back-up while your primary is being repaired. Thanks for offering.

Hey Mike

Yeah, these TKM nav/coms are really good radios. They are powerful and have excellent range, and I have always had good luck with them. I used this as my number 1 com and never had any issues. The only downside for me is I found the design interface to be a bit quirky, and regularly would be changing the wrong part of a frequency or the nav when I meant the com.

It is a shame they are no longer around.

Cary

Cary,

Agreed they are nearly bulletproof!

I've been using them since 2008 and never had one "fail" but they do tend to wear out gracefully, so you know it's going to give up the ghost!

That is why I keep 3 and when one shows a lot of wear and tear, I pull it, replace it, and send the other off to refurb! There is something rugged and reliable I like about them!
