I have a set of Madras droop wing tips on my 150M. Would anyone like to trade a set of stock 150M tips for the Madras?

If anyone needs it I have copies of the paperwork to go with the Madras Super Droop wingtips. I can email it, might be good to have it posted here on the website where it could be downloaded too.
I had the Madras tips on my 150 and can attest that they sure do make a difference in stability during slow flight.

Eric, Thanks for the offer. Did you notice any other performance differences with the Madras?

I don't have anything to tell you about the tips but welcome to the club and enjoy your stay.

This is by far the best type club on the planet and welcome aboard.

I was looking around for wingtip comparisons and was directed to this excellent write up in the May-June 2002 Cessna 150-152 Pilot newsletter.

Hi, do you still have the paperwork for Madras droop tips on a Cessna 150? I am nearing completion of the restoration of N5659G, have the tips and need the paperwork.

Much appreciated if you see this and respond.

Welcome aboard, Melodi. I was hoping you'd join the club and jump in here.

For those of you who don't do FB, Melodi is restoring a rescued 150 and I've been following her progress over there for a while now and the wings were just reinstalled a couple weeks ago.

This plane (and Melodi) really needs to come to our annual 150-152 fly-in in Clinton, Iowa cuz this restoration is a thing of beauty.

We're glad you're here, Melodi. whistle

Wingtip Benefits - Super Tips

Claimed-
Better cruise, some see 2-4mph increase
Slower stall speeds
More stable aileron control at lower speeds

Cons- view an they catch more cross winds

I personally have them on mine and felt the aircraft feels more stable at lower speeds. I can’t speak for the cruise increase as I added wheel pants at the same time I put my Super Tips on (they were painted together). A few friends have flown my 152 and say it’s more stable and fun to fly but that can also be because it’s not a school rental. I actually did this very trade to get mine- traded a gentleman brand new tips I had ordered during Annual and he hated the super tips for other reasons and we traded. They do hinder the side view but once you get over that, they seem like good wingtips

I'm not positive on the 150 Madras install paperwork but the 172 and 182 STC requires that the airspeed indicator be remarked with a lower Vne. When I was looking for the STC documentation the brother that took over the STC could not or would not produce that info. The tips came off the airplane since they could not be installed per the STC requirements. Alan
