I find it just a little bit ridiculous that OLD logbooks are worth so much money! I tried explaining it to my wife and that was her immediate response — ridiculous!
Well, Mark, I am glad for you that you have found a buyer.

I will put up the "sold" sign as soon as it's sold and the guy flies it away. As for the logs, the issue is with persons who wish to finance a plane. Apparently finance companies are not interested in 55 year old airplanes with 25 years of missing logs as collateral. I find that understandable. As for the price -- $42.5K, a few calls and most needed to finance. They wanted a clean plane with immaculate paper history. Drop the price to $25K and the texts/emails/phone calls are coming in constantly. And, fewer questions about the missing logs.
Agree with Jim. Still, I know you were wanting to get out of ownership quickly, and I'm glad you were able to, so congratulations on the (relatively) quick sale!

Mark, I've been super busy, and haven't been following all the threads. I just noticed this one today. Your IFR flights are inspiring! Even though I have the rating, I never seem to have a reason to use it. I hope whatever situation pressured you to step back from aviation will soon be resolved. But flying is optional, and if it's not adding to life, discarding it is only the thing to do. I appreciate your posts on the forum. For me, when I fly, I get more inspired and feel more like flying more. When I'm too busy, I lose interest pretty quickly and start pondering selling the plane. Now I have a teenager wanting to learn fly, so I'll keep the Canary at least until the kids have decided what they're going to do regarding aviation. I'm happy for you that you were able to sell your plane.
