Well I just did it. I sent in the For Sale information for the SportHawk. I really hate to sell my little buddy. We have had some great times together but it is time to move on and I can?t fly two airplanes at the same time. My doorlin? wasn?t happy with the cabin space in the SportHawk but she loves the WartHog.

After the way you guys beat up on the fellow that was offering his 150/150 for $49,500 I am going to be about half afraid to look at any replies to this post. I have told folks over and over that you can?t afford to do a 150 HP conversion, now I am going to prove it. At $45K I am taking a good ol? country whuppin?.

There is someone out there in airplane land that will find the SportHawk a good fit and will know enough to figure out that there is no way that he can duplicate it for the money.

Me too...

Believe me, if there was some way, I'd jump on that so fast it'd make your head spin.

Would be neat to keep it in the family.

Well, at least Wayne's has:

(A) factory engine

(B) Nice, appealing paint & interior

(C) 3 cigarette lighters (or 12 volt acc. plug-ins)

(D) Retractable gear (based on his avatar)

Actually, "that other fellers" plane has a factory new engine w/300 hours. But while we can all agree that the exterior looked best after sunset, I still think the panel and interior looked good.

But I'm going ask one of those stupid questions, "so's I's can learns" (I miss me spinach) -
It appears that the upper end of 150/150's are in the lower-mid price range and the same power range (150hp vs 160hp) of a C-172, which is 4 place and has more shoulder (or girth - for some us) space.
So, what are the advantages to a 150/150 over a Skyhawk?

I, too hope that it can stay in the club, or go to some new, young pilot.

And here's another thought for the group, at large - would we be willing to pay an extra dollar a year in dues, to allow the club to have Wayne include a "free - first year's membership" to a buyer outside of the club?

Roger
