My 150c is in need of a stack upgrade...Not for my flying, but because there are
4 young guys (11-16) who want to learn to fly and they don't have the wherewithal
to do it. At present, I have a Narco Com 11B and a KT76B (?) transponder. I get by just fine
with those and a cell phone with Avare, The old Narco needs replacing but it works,
Trouble is, I'm thinking this is not adequate for private pilot training, but I just don't know.

Anybody have an idea of the navigation skills that a student pilot has to demonstrate
and the equipment they will need to pass the checkride? What would be ideal to have in a
stack for the stated mission and what is the absolute minimum I could get by with? Also,
at least one of the boys has expressed an interest in pursuing advanced ratings, so what
is a minimum stack for instrument training?

Also, does anybody have a working Nav/com (or ?) with a VOR display sitting on a shelf they could
part with?
Thanks in Advance for your help!

At a minimum you would need a navigation radio and ADS-B out. Talk with the flight instructor to see what they might want. Alan
