Hello,

As posted recently, I have an Aviation Fabricator's STC'd Child Seat that is for models 150D through 150M inclusive, A150K - A150M inclusive, and 152/A152.

I called Chuck at Aviation Fabricators after Charles Hanna posted about the STC not being transferrable. Charles is correct.

Chuck told me there are two methods to re-use the seat in a different aircraft than the STC was issued for:

1. The local A&P can install and do a form 337.

2. The seat can be sent to Aviation Fabricators and - get this - for a mere $350.00 they will re-inspect the seat.

I still have the seat for sale and want to get it out of the garage if anyone is interested.

Charles - does a 337 make sense in this case?

Thanks

Tracey - mine is aftermarket, and does clearly have a serial number on the plate affixed to the seat.

That serial number is in the STC as well.

I am still curious if a form 337 would do the trick, because I find it obscene that the manufacturer expects $$$$$ for a reinspection....

I see their point from a CYA angle, but as a customer I am not pleased.

What does your paperwork cover?

Is this child seat still available? I have a '78 C-152. Thanks. Don Martin 860-267-8527
