This without even having taken a look at the airplane in person. The other scam was a phone call by a very dynamic salesman sounding man who said he was from eBay motors...I didn't listen beyond that and hung up. eBay motors is not going to contact me about listing my airplane on their site. Barnstormers has a good many of the scams listed on their site as to what to watch out for. I just didn't think I'd get them right off the bat. Hopefully that'll be the only ones I get. The folks at Barnstormers were very good about getting back with me regarding the scams. The lady at Barnstormers said that avionics are being posted by scammers located in Nigeria. They post ads using American names and locations. Dang shame! I listed my 150G on Barnstormers yesterday and I've already had scammers contact me by email, text and phone. Good grief! Bill, can you elaborate a bit and tell us the scams so others that may sell can know what to avoid? Thanks

This without even having taken a look at the airplane in person. We'll send you a certified check from the Royal Bank of Nigeria for your asking price + $20K. We only need you to return $10K of that overage to us by a Cashier Check drawn from your bank. | | | | Joined: Aug 2016 Posts: 1,284 Likes: 200 Member/1000+posts | Member/1000+posts Joined: Aug 2016 Posts: 1,284 Likes: 200 | I know is a little off topic, but these scams are getting more and more awful and especially pray on the older generation. I have a client in their very late 70s that got scammed out of of $50,000 from a fake Publisher's Clearing House scam. The scammers called her on her home phone and told her she had won $5,000,000 in the publisher's clearing house, but she needed to go ahead and take care of the taxes now. This apparently went on for a few weeks. The scammers told her how to redrawn money from her account and send a cashier's check. They even stayed on the phone with her while she was in the drive through at the bank (bank lobbies were closed due to COVID) to get the check. What alerted her daughter who looks after her, was that the lady's stock broker called to let the daughter know some stock was sold and the funds moved to the lady's checking account. But, by this time it was too late and the money was gone.

It is hard to believe there are so many evil people in the world, but you can't argue with facts. | | |
